Hi Steven
I've just returned from Nepal with what I feel is a successful production in the bag, I just began capturing the 40+ hours of footage from Nepali hospitals, healthcare centers, and remote villages needing health care, in addition to views from the top of the world I have high hopes for this production.
We have a facebook page setup that has been successful in acquiring donations of the Climbing for Health Care cause here: http://apps.facebook.com/causes/176636/13452103?m=6d54c0aa
Also we have a blog up from the adventure in Nepal at: mountainleadershipinstitute.com
thanks for your interest, if you have anyother questions I would love to answer them.
Thanks

Hi Steven- Can you believe its been year since we've corresponded? Well, we finally got an IMDb page and myspace page up for The Promise. Visit
http://rome.bside.com/2008/films/thepromise_rome2008
http://www.myspace.com/thepromisefilm
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1388788/
Also, did you know about withoutabox.com's distribution for filmmakers? Its called Createspace and it makes online distribution and sales available to filmmakers with no upfront investment on amazon.com and other sites, and DVDs are created as ordered. So you'll be able to send a blast to your list and let them know where they can buy your film and (finally) start making some money from it. We're about to get ours set up for THE PROMISE. Click below for more info on createspace.
There is much to film here in Hawaii! So projects can get addicting. Shooting less nowadays...producing more online social media now; but more so trying to get out to the beach as much as possible and learn how to kitesurf. This is my new favorite Ning group! Do you have anything going into SonScreen this year? Lets catch up on the phone soon! Aloha, Jerry
It's definitely not been the greatest of times. The lawyers are trying some other avenues but I think it's mainly last ditch attempts so they don't feel like they are sitting on their hands. I'm not sure that reality has really sunk in yet, at least for me. How do you know Terry & Paul? I'm new to all this so I am trying to keep up.
I wish I could take on interns. I'm sort of doing this 'part time'. My 'real' job is flying a twin-engine turboprop for an air ambulance company. I have a lot of time off which helps me pursue my other passion, filmmaking.
I happened upon this site typing in Adventist Filmmaker in Google. It's amazing what you can find on the Internet.
I'm glad you created this site. It's great having as SDA filmmaking community online. I know a few of the folks on here, and hope to get to know more.
Take care,
Jim

Hey Stephen! Glad you liked the trailer!! I'm heading out to TN in October to finish off all the editing, sound design, color correction, etc. etc. etc., so we should have a finished movie by the end of October. It'll be nice to have it done...
Have any more fun shoots with the Red recently? It was pretty awesome working with it for Marbles.
Thanks for welcoming me to Adventistfilmaker. I would love to enter a film at Sonscreen this year. However it is a little late for me to try. I really don't have any film project that is completely original. But I plan to be working on multiple films this year especially during during spring break and the summer.
Hey Stephen,
Thanks for all your effort here to bring together us filmmakers. The Rocklin project is moving along and challenging me to look outside my regular filmmaking "tricks." Because it is four episodes it's a challenge to create those four story arcs within one cohesive story arc. It's also a challenge to make keep this film honest in a setting that is very safe (and should be). But in general it's been a great experience working with a church that is as innovative and loving as Rocklin. I'm learning a lot from Paul and having fun brainstorming with him.
I'd really like to catch up with you at sonscreen but I'm leaving for Africa two days after the event and am not sure I'll make it. Just curious - have you done more documentary stuff or more live-action/fiction (whatever you call it) work. Seems like you have a lot of interest in both. What did you do after you were done with school?
Woah! Congrats on ordering the RED camera! I bet you are stoked. I submitted a film to Sonscreen and if I am accepted, then I'll try to go. Will you be going?
Hi Stephen, thanks! We're still seeking screening venues for THE PROMISE. The next one will be in Atlanta on March 27 during the WFTI Short Film Festival (visit www.wifta.org for details). And we're still working on a myspace page for it as well (http://www.myspace.com/thepromisefilm). We're trying to continue the festival circuit and get a good first run showing schedule before we upload it to youtube or other online venues. We missed submitting for SONscreen this year, but plan to next year. I won't be able to make it to SONscreen this year but hope to again soon (I did volunteer with Stacia and the crew in 2005 in St. Louis). Thanks again and hope to meet you son too!

No, I don't know Brian. You say he is doing a doc on Grand Ave. the church in Oakland where John Henderson is the pastor? Cool. What is the premise
It was nice to meet you in person in Vegas. What a small world we live in! I still think you and David must be distant cousins.

How's it going? If you get a moment I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know what you think of my demo reel.
I posted the audio of my sermon from SONscreen at my website.
